Inca Inca beach & marine life centre

Next to El Rodadero, in the Inca Inca cove, stands the former Acuario y Museo del Mar del Rodadero, founded in 1965 and renamed the Centro de Vida Marina in December 2024. You get there by boat, and pairing it with the beach is one of the outings the house recommends.

Don’t miss

  1. 1Sea-fed pools with sharks, turtles and dolphins
  2. 2A museum of Tairona culture and maritime life
  3. 3The marine tunnel the operator bills as the only one in Colombia
  4. 4Inca Inca beach, outside Tayrona — no park fee
  5. 5The option of carrying on by boat to Playa Blanca

What to expect

Shared boats leave from El Rodadero’s piers, stopping at the Centro de Vida Marina and carrying on to Playa Blanca. The operator says it cares for more than 400 animals, and the site combines its pools with the museum. One detail: don’t confuse it with “Acuario Mundo Marino”, a separate attraction in town.

The centre also offers dolphin shows and encounters. It’s a topic that divides opinion; we’d rather tell you about the museum and the marine life, and let you decide what to see.

The city classes Inca Inca as a “hard-to-reach” beach: it’s open 8:00–16:00. Plan your return.

  2. Boat from El Rodadero’s piers

Shared boats leave the North and South piers between roughly 9:00 and 14:00, stop at the aquarium and carry on to Playa Blanca; returns run between about 13:30 and 15:40. The only access we recommend is by boat. Confirm times at the pier.
