Neguanje & Playa Cristal

Neguanje lies in Tayrona’s Palangana sector. From there you can reach Playa Gayraca, Neguanje, Playa del Muerto and Playa Cristal — the last two by boat. It’s a day-visit plan with open swimming, snorkelling, a restaurant and mangroves, and the easiest way to see the park without hours of walking.

Don’t miss

  1. 1Open swimming and snorkelling at Neguanje and Playa del Muerto
  2. 2The 7–10 minute boat ride to Playa Cristal
  3. 3Mangroves in Neguanje bay, and coral formations
  4. 4A restaurant and boat transport within the sector

What to expect

The bus drops you at the Neguanje turn-off, before the toll. From there to the beach you don’t walk (it would take hours): you carry on by car or moto-taxi. At the Palangana ticket office you pay the full Tayrona fee — the reduced Bahía Concha rate doesn’t apply here — and show your insurance and vaccination card.

Once at the beach, it’s a sea day: snorkelling, shade and, if you like, a short boat to Playa Cristal. The old Parques portal lists them as one: “Playa del Muerto or Playa Cristal”. It’s day visits only, so no staying overnight.

Guests say the house helps them call transport. In January 2026 the house promoted a chiva to Neguanje at COP 10,000 per person, transport only; it was a one-off promotion, so ask whether there’s anything similar for your dates.
